We hope to be able to report on the actual surf conditions each or most mornings and try to predict the next day's conditions. If we don't then the conditions are that bad (or good?).

Low Tide:
11.27
(1.1m)
High Tide:
17.18
(7.1m)

It's pretty good down there this morning!
Five to Six feet of surf is rolling our way, directed and guided by the lightest of offshore breezes while a wonderful sunrise shatters that frost.
It's pretty much at it's weakest right now on the dropping tide but it's still pretty good!  And it should (will) get better.  Just pick your favourite break, get that coldwater wax on, shuffle into that snuggly five mil of stretchy neoprene and enjoy!
Oh, I've broken a bit of a self imposed rule and put some snapshots up for you as well:

I'm away for a few days from tomorrow and Matt is spending the week searching for waves with a few of his mates, scouring the northern tips for some proper Winter grinders.  That means that the shop will be closed from Wednesday through to Friday.  Matt will be back to open up on Saturday morning doubtless with footage of his cold water adventures!
But there will be no surf report for a few days although Matt will doubtless Tweet a little pointer each day when he gets back.  So follow @constantinesurf for those instagram snaps!

The video of Toby trying the Sea Glass finless board and the Meyerhoffer Lemondrop last week can be seen at vimeo.com/36075023 .  You can see him adjusting to the boards as he goes along.  A bit wobbly to begin with but getting there eventually.

Smaller waves are sneaking in here this morning as well.
It's all glassy and crisp and attractive  with that sun streaking down the valley but the other side is so good, that has to be the option.
Still, it should be okay here on the incoming tide if Harlyn is your thing.
Here's a pic of that glorious sunrise:

Our scale for measuring conditions is the universal one; 1ft (barely rideable - your choice), 2-3ft (hip to shoulder height when trimming across the wave), 3-4ft (head high and great), 4-5ft (that little bit bigger), 6ft (very rare - well overhead), 8ft (rarely gets bigger in this country but has been known), 10ft (very rarely rideable in this country only a few breaks can hold this size). 12ft + (get yer jet ski, yer big wave gun, kiss yer family and friends good-bye and head for the hills - but I've never seen it this big and rideable in this country).

Surf Forecast for wednesday 8th February 2012

Those seemingly endless days of onshores and drizzle are about to be suddenly balanced by what should be pretty perfect conditions today!

Long travelled swell should be washing our shores, gently supported as they break by a relaxed, offshore wind.
Five to six feet of clean, sparkling and tubing waves should greet us and entertain us all day.
The weather?  who cares!  But it is likely to be bright and sunny!
Enjoy.

Surf Conditions for the Week Ahead

A rolling, even and relatively powerful little swell is rolling our way through the week.

It is looking like a very nice start to the week with pumping, clean surf and warmer air temperatures than last week.  By Tuesday afternoon we could very well be enjoying 'as good as it gets' conditions and that should hold through Wednesday!  And I don't often stick my neck out that far!
The weather is looking settled to start, a bit mixed later but we should see enough brightness and, if the surf is that good, it doesn't really matter does it?
Have a great week, whatever you're doing!
