Summer Days and Lazy Waves
A little taste of those Summer days has arrived at Constantine Bay.  The groms are out of school and are flying all over those glassy waves on all sorts of surf riding vehicles.  Cheyne and Sarah have launched this season's surf lessons and thoughts are shifting to thinner neoprene and los... full details

Another fabulous day is upon us with that grinding swell still rolling along.
The surf has dropped a little but looks no worse for that.  There are still four foot waves lining up and grinding across the reefs and headlands being sculptured by the lighter than it was, offshore wind.
So, with the sun bursting over the horizon, it definitely looks like another pretty perfect day ahead of us, as long as you weren't one of the 4,000 or so revelling at the SAS Ball last night!  We were down that way yesterday and it was looking set to be a real good night!
And don't forget the European Flow Riding Championships have arrived at Retallick!  Good luck to the Hilldog Taxi Bear and to Luke!  I think that you can watch it at http://www.retallackresort.co.uk/loop-webcam.php , or if you're in the area, why not pop along?  It's free entry!

Titchy, tiny little wave are hitting the sand with a loud 'slap'.  Again, with the other side being so good, why would you want to?  Although maybe more towards high tide there may be a little one for the kids.

Our scale for measuring conditions is the universal one; 1ft (barely rideable - your choice), 2-3ft (hip to shoulder height when trimming across the wave), 3-4ft (head high and great), 4-5ft (that little bit bigger), 6ft (very rare - well overhead), 8ft (rarely gets bigger in this country but has been known), 10ft (very rarely rideable in this country only a few breaks can hold this size). 12ft + (get yer jet ski, yer big wave gun, kiss yer family and friends good-bye and head for the hills - but I've never seen it this big and rideable in this country).

Surf Forecast for Sunday 5th September 2010

And on it goes!  But make the most of it, you know that this isn't going to last forever.

The swell size is likely to drop, just a smidgeon, while the wave period is likely to shrink too, only a bit again but it all starts to add up.  Still, after saying that we should be able to continue riding three foot, clean and shapely waves in the sunshine and on a weekend!  Good innit!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

A pumping, rhythmic swell, steady south easterly (offshore) winds, bright, bright sunshine and an emptying lineup.  September is here and this is what it's all about.  Shame that the sun may disappear for a wee while on saturday but hey ho, it should still be cooking!
Have a great weekend, whatever you're doing!
